Course Description:
This course is designed to assist Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER nurses in keeping up with the changing regulations in hospital practice regarding patient assessment. Regulation changes that have occurred during the past 2 years and continue to change each year impact both the medical surgical areas in general hospitals as well as psychiatric hospitals. All patients entering the hospital through any assessment area are required to be assessed for suicide risk. Suicide Risk assessment is a shift by shift routine for psychiatric nurses. It is a more difficult skill for medical surgical nurses or ICU and ER nurses. This Webinar series will review the suicide assessment for med surg patients. It will also give nurses the skills to determine if one of their patients has an untreated psychiatric problem during a medical surgical admission.
Who Should Be Interested:
Registered, Licensed Vocational and Advanced Practice Nurses in Med/Surg, ICU/CCU, and ER; Psychiatric Professionals; Social Workers.
