Course Description:
This inservice training course will provide the participant with information to ensure their pulmonary rehabilitation program meets the minimum standards established by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The course will include basic information necessary to establish a new program, to information that can be used to enhance an existing program. The scope of information presented will range from selecting appropriate candidates for pulmonary rehab participation to developing the individualized treatment plan to defining appropriate billing codes and beyond. Guidelines from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid on reimbursement of pulmonary rehabilitation services will be a thread throughout the entire series. Case examples will be utilized to help enhance the educational experience.  An online post-test and evaluation follows each presentation and must be completed to receive continuing education credit.

IV. Proper billing for the pulmonary rehabilitation services provided.

V. Documentation for the services provided.

  2. Describe the rehabilitation process of assessment, goal setting, interventions and reassessment.
  3. Describe CMS regulations and AACVPR recommendations related to the ITP.

#6 - Pulmonary Rehabilitation Case Examples and Individualized Treatment Plans

I. Utilize assessment findings from the case example to identify goals and interventions.

II. Discuss the Medicare required 30 day reassessment.

III. Identify the specific billing code(s) and the documentation for the services provided.

IV. The discharge process.
