PURPOSE & CONCEPT…
Nutritionists and other health professionals need an understanding of the rationale and physiology of laboratory tests used to assess nutritional status. The ability to recommend the most appropriate laboratory tests as well as assess and interpret the results can result in improved medical outcomes.
The impact of stress, aging, and disease on nutritional status will be discussed. Additionally, the relationship between laboratory findings and behavior will be described, allowing for the development of effective counseling strategies.

WORKSHOP FACULTY…
Jackie Storm, PhD, CNS, is an educator, counselor, public speaker and writer. She is a New York State Licensed Nutritionist, and is nationally certified by the Certification Board for Nutrition Specialists (American College of Nutrition.) Dr. Storm has more than 28 years of counseling and health education experience, plus 18 years of experience teaching at college level. For 12 years she was heard regularly on New York radio, and her Articles have appeared in Women's Sports & Fitness, New Body, Prevention's Lose Weight Guidebook, and Grolier's The New Book of Knowledge.
A graduate of New York University, and recipient of The Founders Day Award for Outstanding Scholarship, Dr. Storm's professional affiliates include the American College of Nutrition, the Society for Nutrition Education, and the American Nutraceutical Association. Her practice specialties include Clinical & Behavioral Nutrition, Eating Disorders, Sports Nutrition, and Alternative Medicine.
