PURPOSE & CONCEPT…

Patient safety...this week, every week. It is difficult to pick up a newspaper or journal that does not contain another article about patient mortality and morbidity, the need for increased safety measures. Historically healthcare has been reactive to risk. But it is critical that we focus on a proactive approach in creating a culture of safety starting with clear standards of practice, defined job description expectations, comprehensive orientation and monitoring of ongoing competency based performance. Join us in this open discussion workshop where we will "think outside the box". Analyzing practice for risks is everyone's responsibility. Our focus will be the key elements, essential in an environment based on a culture of safety philosophy- job specific practice including customer service and team dynamics. Many sample forms will be included in the workbook but you are encouraged to bring your own for group discussion or for individual assessment by the group facilitator.
