WORKSHOP FACULTY…

Spend an exciting and informative day with Debbie Strong, MBA, LDN, RD. Ms. Strong has spent the last 6 years working within the cardiac rehabilitation and preventative cardiology setting and serves as a full-time Cardiovascular Dietitian for a not-for-profit medical organization assessing and recognizing the special needs and behaviors of cardiac rehabilitation patients while advising them according to their individual needs, coordinating and promoting a community-based program called Healthy Cookin’ in New Orleans for the local region, and helping manage hospital partnership known as Good & Hearty (creates AHA-approved menu selections) with a world-renowned restaurant in the New Orleans area. She also counsels clients, including professional athletes, on weight loss as part of a physician-based comprehensive weight loss program.

Debbie has been featured in such publications as Shape, Fitness, Health, Self, WebMD, WGNO –TV New Orleans, WDSU-TV New Orleans, Woman’s World, Associated Press, The New York Times, and Turner South. Debbie obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition from Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama. In addition, she received a Masters of Business Administration Degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama, while also working toward a Masters of Science in Clinical Nutrition.


GENERAL INFORMATION...

REGISTRATION:

You may register on-line by choosing one of the dates at the top of the page or print out the PDF and simply complete the enrollment form and enclose the appropriate tuition fee (or credit card info). For those participants requiring hospital authorization, pre-enroll by phone once approval is received (checks can arrive after enrollment). Payment must be received prior to workshop date. Confirmation will be provided upon enrollment. No tape recorders please.

Personalized Certificates of Completion (CE validation) will be provided at the end of the workshop. Registrations made inside of 10 days of event will receive Certificates in the mail.

Tuition and travel/meal expenses related to professional education may be tax deductible (consult your tax advisor for more details)

ACCREDITATION:
Nurses: Academy Medical Systems is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Michigan Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
7.2 contact hours will be rewarded to nursing professionals at the completion of this workshop. Academy Medical Systems is also a provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (#CEP14413) for 7.2 hours, and a provider approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (#50-19) for 7.2 hours.
Dietitians and Registered Dietetic Technichians: Academy Medical Systems is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Registered dietitians (RDs) and dietetic technicians, registered (DTRs) will receive 6 continuing professional education units(CPEUs)for completion of this program/material.
Certified Athletic Trainers: Will receive 6 contact hours for this workshop. Academy Medical Systems is recognized by the Board of Certification (BOC) to offer continuing education for certified athletic trainers.
Exercise Physiologists: Approved for 7.2 hours by AACVPR. The ACSM recognizes seminars approved by other accrediting agencies for Certified Exercise Physiologist re-certification purposes.
